Welcome 2009

It has been an extremely busy fall--getting oriented to my new role within the School of Nursing and spending time with family and friends. In October we were blessed to visit Tom's nephew Andrew, his wife Libbey, and their adorable daughter Evan. We had great fun and enjoyed their visit to Minnesota.

Also this fall the Graduate Nursing Faculty went on retreat to the North Shore of Lake Superior. In addition to working hard, we had some free time for hiking at Gooseberry Falls and enjoyed beautiful scenery at the resort.
December was BUSY! I attended a technology conference in Washington DC with a group from St. Scholastica. The end of the semester is always crazy. We enjoyed fun holiday celebrations with the Koski families and the Fauchalds & Whickers. Tuuli has turned into a great host.
My goal for 2009 is to blog on a more consistent basis. It will be a great way to communicate next summer when we visit Finland. Both Tom and I were lucky enough to be chosen to present posters at the 2009 International Nursing Informatics Congress which will be held the end of June in Helsinki. My CSS firend Shirley and I will also be doing a demonstration of our Academic Electronic Health Record during the conference. An exciting time that we are looking forward to!
